General Information
How does this work? Our secure platform is 100% text-based. When you start a visit you are prompted to enter all the needed information about your symptoms and concerns as well as your medical history. If pictures are needed, you will add those too. The provider will review your information and respond with a diagnosis, plan, and any needed prescriptions within 24 hours! If the provider needs more information, they can call you or set up a video call.
Do you take insurance? No. We follow a Direct Patient Care (DPC) model. There is A LOT wrong with our healthcare system and insurance companies are at the center of this. By opting out of the traditional system we can simplify our payment structure, eliminate red tape, and realize a much simpler business model.
How does a DCP model benefit me? Transparent pricing - Patients know exactly what they're paying for, and there are no hidden costs or unexpected bills. No insurance hassles - Patients don't need to deal with insurance claims, paperwork, or pre-authorizations. Lower cost - Because we don't spend time fighting with insurance companies, we charge you less. Most self-pay telehealth visits are $120 or more. Our visit prices are often the same or lower than a co-pay to an urgent care center or ER.
How do I get my prescriptions? We can send your prescription to any pharmacy you choose. We often send to Rx's to Cost Plus, which an online pharmacy, but we can send locally as well. Many of our dermatology prescriptions are compounded through Skin Medicinals, often much cheaper than your insurance co-pay.
Do you see patients outside of Maine? Right now we are focused healthcare for Maine residents by Maine providers.
What is your refund policy? You can cancel your visit anytime before a provider accepts it. In this case, you will not have a charge. If the providers declines the visit for any reason, you will not have a charge. Once a provider accepts a visit, you will be charged the appropriate fee and no refunds given. On the rare occasion that a response is longer than 24 hours, you have the option of canceling the visit or you can continue to wait.
